Welcome message
Hello and welcome to my online headquarters. Thank you for taking the time to explore this website and read about my vision for Michigan’s future.
Although our state is graced by great people and blessed with abundant natural resources, things in Lansing are a mess. Instead of working together to find common ground in solving our economic woes, elected officials reach almost instinctively for the sharpest partisan attack. Politics has degenerated into name-calling, blame-shifting, and “witty” sound bites. To the ancient Greeks, politics was the art of doing that which was best for the people. Nowadays, the word political is synonymous with doing that which brings the most personal advantage. Things have to change.
We can choose the safe path, which is to stay on the sidelines until this very nasty period in our history has run its course, or we can decide that each of us will make a contribution, however small, to bringing reason and civility to the public debate. We can bemoan our economic troubles or we can offer ideas on how we can work ourselves out of this morass.
For me, I have decided that service in the Michigan Senate is the way that I can try to make my contribution. Please join me in this campaign.
